The R2-D2 Bot documentation provides detailed instructions on how to effectively reply to emails within Discord using the bot's intuitive interface. With R2-D2 Bot, you can seamlessly respond to incoming emails directly within the Discord thread, eliminating the need to switch to an external email client.
To reply to an email from Discord using R2-D2 Bot, follow these simple steps:
Enter the Discord thread: Navigate to the Discord thread where the email is being discussed. This is typically the thread created by R2-D2 Bot when a new email arrives.
Compose your message: Write your response in the Discord thread just as you would in a regular chat message. Ensure that your message is clear and concise, addressing the relevant points.
Add the ✅ reaction: To indicate that you want to send your message as a reply to the email, add the ✅ reaction to your message. This reaction serves as a signal to R2-D2 Bot that you intend to send the message as an email reply.
Sending and confirmation: R2-D2 Bot will process your message and attempt to send it as an email reply to the original sender. Discord will also add a 🆗 emoji to indicate that the email was successfully sent.
Please note the following important details:
Authorized users: Only authorized users who have been granted permission can reply to emails from Discord threads. You can manage authorized users by accessing the "Members" section in the Settings page of R2-D2 Bot.
Permission message and ❌ icon: If someone who doesn't have permission attempts to send a reply, they will receive a message indicating that they are not authorized. Their message will display an ❌ icon underneath to indicate that it cannot be sent as an email reply.
By following these steps and ensuring that only authorized users are granted permission, you can enjoy seamless email communication and collaboration directly from Discord using R2-D2 Bot.
